Czechoslovak Chamber Orchestra Prague


Jan Mracek (1952) studied at Prague Conservatory with prof.Dr.O.Stejskal, then finished Music Academy in Prague in the class of prof.V.Snitil. Already in that time, he performed with CsKOP.

After completing studies, he was a member of Prague Chamber Orchestra (PKO) for 9 years. Shortly, he was engaged in Orquesta Sinfonica de Tenerife, afterwards as deputy of concert master in Prague Radio Symphony Orchestra. From 1991, he was a concert master in Prague Symphony Orchestra for 10 years (1991-2001); At the present, he is a deputy of concert master in the same music house. During his music career, he has been performing in number of countries all over the world. As a soloist with great acclaim, he cooperated and recorded with forward orchestras such as Prague Radio Orchestra, Prague Symphony Orchestra, Belgrade Radio Symphony Orchestra.

His repertoire is wide - includes all epochs from baroque to the modern age: opuses from Bruch (Scotch fantasy), Suk (Fantasy in g-minor), Mozart (Concertos, Symphony concertante for violin and viola, Concertone for 2 violins), Bach (Concertos, Double concerto), Haydn (Symphony concertante for violin, violoncello, oboe and basoon), Beethoven (Triple concerto), Brahms (Double concerto), etc. He performed with famous soloist such as Vaclav Hudecek - violin, Jiri Barta, Jan Sirc and Jiri Hosek - violoncellos, Jana Brozkova - oboe, etc.

Jan Mracek is wellcome in many concert halls and countries for his beautiful, velvet and coloured sound and his dexterous violin technic. His CDs was issued by BMG VICTOR, INC. - Japan, CLARTON, MUSIC VARS - Prague, the new CD issued by CsKOP with concertos for 2 violins recorded with V.Hudecek … From 1998 he is the soloist and artistic leader of Czechoslovak Chamber Orchestra Prague.
